• Day 01 | After breakfast, transfer to the domestic airport, fly to Bhadrapur (approx 45 minutes). Upon arrival, meet assistance at the airport and drive to Kakarvitta (Nepal-India border). After completing Nepal immigration formalities, cross the friendship bridge and complete India immigration formalities at the checkpoint. Take a scenic drive to Darjeeling, 'Queen of Hill Stations' (about 5 hours). In the evening, walk around Chowrasta and the local market, and have dinner. Overnight at the hotel. |
• Day 02 | Visit Tiger Hill at 2590 meters for sunrise over Kanchanjunga and the eastern Himalayan Mountains. Visit Ghoom Monastery on the way back, which houses a 12 ft high statue of Lord Buddha. Explore Batasia Loop and War Memorial. Visit Padma Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, H.M.I., Tea Garden, and Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center. Overnight at the hotel. |
• Day 03 | After breakfast, drive to Pelling in West Sikkim. The journey runs through winding roads across valleys, hills, and villages, following the Tista River and Rangit River to Legship. Take a break at the viewpoint near Melli for a view of the confluence of both rivers. Continue through Geyzing to Pelling. Check into the hotel and have free time to explore Pelling. Overnight at the hotel. |
• Day 04 | After breakfast, visit the following spots for sightseeing in Pelling:
Pemayangtse Monastery: One of the oldest monasteries in the State, located at an altitude of 6840 ft. It commands a magnificent panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and surrounding hills.
Rabdentse Ruins: The second capital of the erstwhile Kingdom of Sikkim, offering scenic views of Khangchendzonga ranges from the top of the ruins.
Khecheopalri Lake: A sacred lake hidden in forest cover, believed to be kept clean by birds. A motorable road leads to the lake, where a trekker's hut and a pilgrim's hut provide accommodation. Overnight at the hotel. |
• Day 05 | After breakfast, drive to Gangtok at 7 am. Lunch will be served on the way. Arrive in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. In the evening, explore the local market around M.G. Marg (Litter-free Zone) and Lal market. Overnight at the hotel. |
• Day 06 | Visit Chhangu Lake (Tsomgo Lake) at 12,800 ft, a holy lake with pristine beauty surrounded by alpine plants. Explore the area by foot or ride on a Yak. The lake is in a restricted area; an Inner Line Permit is required. After lunch, drive back to Gangtok and walk around the local market in the evening. Overnight at the hotel. |
• Day 07 | After breakfast, visit the following spots in Gangtok:
Tashi View Point: Located about 6-7 km from Gangtok, it offers a stunning view of Khangchendzonga. A small cafeteria is available for refreshments.
Enchey Monastery: Situated on a hilltop, this 200-year-old monastery follows the Nyingma order and features religious objects and annual masked dances.
Flower Festival: Enjoy flower exhibitions, including popular orchid shows held near the White Hall complex.
White Hall: A historical structure with British architecture, built in 1932 in memory of Claude White, the first Political Officer of Sikkim.
Handicraft & Handloom Centre: Showcases traditional arts and crafts, including hand-woven carpets, shawls, and carved items. Open Monday to Saturday.
Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and Museum: Established in 1958, the institute promotes research on Tibetan culture and houses a large collection of Tibetan works, statues, and manuscripts.
Do-drul Chorten: Built in 1945, this white stupa with 108 prayer wheels is a significant religious site in Gangtok.
Rumtek Monastery: Located 24 km from Gangtok, this Dharma Chakra Center is a major Tibetan Buddhist site and houses unique religious scriptures and art objects. Overnight at the hotel. |
• Day 08 | After breakfast, drive to Kakarvitta, Nepal Border (approx. 5-6 hours). Reach Kakarvitta around 12 or 1 PM. After lunch, transfer to Bhadrapur airport and fly back to Kathmandu between 3 and 4 PM. Overnight journey by bus. |
